Neuromodulation therapies are designed to change or interrupt the neurological process that causes symptoms. These treatments generally result in fewer side effects than oral preventives. Newer therapies are non-invasive or minimally-invasive (not requiring major surgery). They can often double as both preventive and abortive treatments.
